Bold, bright and crazy, sexy cool… Metallics! I came across these bebe sheer metallic ripped leggings while looking for items for another look and instantly thought marvelous!
While on twitter the other evening, I came across this tweet: “Check out 20 hand-picked Fall trends under $250 from @rzrachelzoe http://fabsu.gr/10544392 10:00 AM Aug 25th via OnSugar” Although I did see that it said $250, I clicked on it any way and just had to see what item or items can possibly be worth paying $250. What I can say I agree with is that all 20 items are both must have and transitional. What I disagree with, is that you do not need to spend up to $250 for these fall trends. That is why I decided to go ahead and take it upon myself to redo and rename Rachel Zoe’s 20 transitional trends under $250 to 20 transitional trends under $75. Yes, you are reading correct the same look and feel, the same must haves and the same trends but under $75!! I would not be able to say that I can dress you for less if I did not redo/rename the list. Fall's Best under $75 According to Rachel Zoe’s top 20 Transitional Fall Trends here is what you will be needing: 1. Over the knee boots 2. Military jacket 3. Adorned belt 4. Printed blouse 5. Cut out wedge 6. Wide leg trouser 7. Felt fedora 8. Lightweight cape 9. Perfect polish 10. Leather skirt 11. Leopard clutch 12. Deep lip color 13. Fitted cargo pants 14. Versatile jumpsuit 15. Collar necklace 16. Draped jacket 17. Textured scarf 18. Maxi Dress 19. Suede convertible handbag 20. Thigh high socks When you compare my picks to hers you will see I was pretty dead on with some of the pieces. There really is no need to pay those outrages prices, especially if you are anything thing like me and like to look like a million bucks but only spend a dime. Another thing that I noticed is that some of her transitional pieces have been featured in my looks. I was happy to see that, makes me feel good since I am a self-taught and trained fashion junkie. Slub-Knit Cardigans for Baby $11 Cardigans are a perfect go to piece even for children; they are versatile and are great to keep any little girl nice & warm. They fit perfectly and transition effortlessly from season to season. Cardigans are great for layering keeping your little girl stylish. .I love the look of mixing certain prints and colors, who better to pull it off than a child. Now, I want my kid to look like a kid; but I also like her to look adorable and stylish. I take pride in knowing that she looks well put together in an outfit that didn’t break my pocket and is resilient to children. Perfect Play DateBrowsing online, I came across this short sleeve cable knit cardigan and after thinking; Naliya would look so cute in that, I thought it would make a great starting piece for an outfit.
Because it only has the one button at the top you can layer with just about any top, I choose a black and white striped short-sleeved top, red Lane Patent Leather Driver loafer on sale at only $26.99, normally my limit for kid’s shoes would be 20 bucks but I could spend an extra 7 dollars, why not? The Rosette Sweater-Knit Hats for Baby by Old Navy has stylish stripes and a cute rosette accent creating playfully pretty appeal. Nestor And-Natalia Gibbs: ChicaFashion, Can u create a bohemian look 4 me? With one of those head bands with feathers u always want me to use with my hair straight. Thx! (:* What you see above is wall-to-wall conversation from my personal Facebook account. Yesterday, I was given a few fashion styling request, challenges which I am always totally up for. The first challenge as quoted above was to create a “bohemian” look. Below is what I came up with for Natalia’s request... Bohemian By going with a dress that is light and flows as the main piece in the ensemble it would sets the “bohemian” character. Worn with wedged gladiator sandals, a multi-color feathered headband, a mix of warm colors and gold tones gives this chica her gypsy feel. Natalia, I hope you are happy with what I came up with, if you happen to wear any parts or all of the look please submit pictures. Vanessa Mota-Rosado: Natalia, she wants to go bohemian, Love it!!... I want an outfit for my Birthday, which I probably won't celebrate but just in case. Any ideas? This was the following post in that thread and if I could figure out how to put in a blog comment box on my site, people would be able to just write to me here directly versus my Facebook. Nonetheless, I took on the request and I came up with this classy 26th Birthday look… Classy "26th" This look is classy and mature but still keeps the sexy. Lace is very in and trending right now. The Lace and Spot Mesh Long-line Camisole was my starting inspiration piece. The peek-a-boo mesh inserts play up on the sensual side of the look, while the deep V adds a little bit of exposure in an elegant way. A Lace mini and the T-strap heels, decorated with a scrunched fringe-edged taffeta strip with clusters of long beads tie the look together. I finishing the look are the black and gold accessories, the Cabachon Bib Necklace beautifully fit right along the inside of the V neckline. Vanessa, Hopefully this look does inspire you to start making those birthday plans because I think you will look absolutely great in this. Wandaly Cruz: I need one for my bday as well something hot!! Don't care whatever u want!! :) thanks The last request of the day was also for a birthday outfit. With little to go on for inspiration, I took into consideration that Wandaly is young, bold and daring. I have wanted to use lace-top over the knee stockings in one of my looks and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do so. Single, Sexy & Free I would say my inspiration to start of this look were the stockings, over the knee stockings are quickly become the hot new “IT” item. Draped shorts are the perfect bottom to use to with the stockings; the top is a light rose and black lace corset. Black, pink and crystal accessories pull it together; Simply Vera Vera Wang Jet-Tone Floral Y Necklace Instant glamour gets you noticed wearing it. The Y design with pink floral details blossoms with beauty. Adding sophistication and a hint of “racy” the pink suede pumps complete the outfit.
Wandaly, This look is amazing! You wanted “HOT” and that’s what I gave you while keeping stylish, fun and flirty. It embodies a single, sexy and free woman… just how you should feel. Mossimo Supply Co. Beaded Cowboy Hat -$11.99 . There are 35 days until the STATE FAIR OF TEXAS begins which means that I am immensely excited. I have wanted to go for the past three years! Every year something always comes up, example last year –oh I was only 6 months pregnant. Well this year folks I’m hoping it’s my year and I get to go for my birthday. What does this have to do with fashion? Only that I get to wear my cowgirl boots! Best buy I have ever made. I love these boots; I picked them up at DSW about 5 months ago and let’s just say I wore them almost every day for about a month or two. I find cowgirl boots so versatile; I have worn mine with jeans, skirts, jean skirts, shorts and dresses. I feel fun and flirty with them on and they are just chic when worn correct. I have created a few looks bellow and because I’m all about not breaking the bank, all the outfits are within a decent price range for the budget fashionista. Texas State Flair I played up on all the earth tones, while still adding my signature pop of color. Each outfit is a bit different then the next, which is perfect for my 3-day weekend at the fair.
Those boots have to be the most comfortable and easiest shoes to wear. I recommend you all to get a pair. Now I know I always preach about saving money and spending as little as possible however, these Coconuts Nelson Leather Western Boots come with a price tag of $139.95. Believe me though it will be the best purchase you make.
Ruffles have always been associated with little girls you see them and think of something frilly and infantile, well ruffles are childish no more. Ruffles are everywhere from shoes to shirts to skirts, quite versatile and stylish.
For a larger girl, ruffles are great because they camouflage and can flow away from the body, helping to hide areas that may not be as flattering. They can be worn a number of ways dressed either up or down from a casual look to an evening look. Ruffles add that little bit of sass that takes an outfit from plain and simple to something unexpected. Like a little surprise on your top or bottom, flair for your clothes. Little Miss Sassy...
This sassy little look can go from work, dinner or around town. I went with a monotone black and white look. A white Old Navy top with graceful ruffles and tie neck paired with a zip front tiered skirt by Torrid and a rope tie waist belt. The accessories tie everything together with their jet black and silver/ grey tones. Like the daisy fuentes® Jet-Tone Mesh Necklace chic in mesh. The piece âde resistanceâ has to be the Ruffled Buckle-Strap Pumps, glossy pumps trimmed with oversized ruffles and three side-buckle straps. They are just so adorable and go with the outfit in either pink or black.
“Big girls don’t cry” but they sure like to dress fashionable too! Three of my closest friends are fuller figured girls so if I was going to do anything with fashion, styling and tips I had to have them in mind as well. Well browsing for cropped denim jean for my Military Chic outfit, I came across these wonderful pair of Calvin Klein Jeans 'Blasted' Boyfriend Jeans (Plus) they are a steal at just $45.90 at Nordstrom. I happen to love gray jeans they go with just about everything but these also happen to be a “boyfriend” jean. My friends would totally be able to wear these and feel stylish and comfortable. Date Night...I paired the jeans with a Floral Beaded Top
Now I am not sure about you but I have never seen my friends rock a sheer top with nothing under and I personally wouldn’t recommend it, not to offend anyone. Therefore, I added a Fat Free Dressing Strapless Camisole by Flexees $29.99 in red to not only to add a POP of color but also the added slimming, shaping and smoothing. It has regular bra style hook and eye back closure for added support. To tie the whole look together I choose to go with black, silver and red accessories, Luxe Gem Cocktail Ring $3.80, Vampess Bib Neckalace $25.99. Like always my signature hair accessory doesn’t stay behind, Chiffon Flower Hair Clips $1.50 play up on the Chiffon flower from the top. The shoes are Kensie Girl Women's Selina Platform Pump, A mary jane with a twist! I think this Voluptuous Chica fashion looks great do this is definitely a look she can go to the club with or out for drinks with her husband on date night… I have been a little busy with work, school and my Family; hence the reason for not posting yesterday. Unfortunately, I will not be able to post every day. But you had better believe that if I find a great "find" I will most definitely be sharing it with you. If you haven’t read already I am recently addicted to twitter LOL, any who on there I follow this awesome site @FabSugar. Well yesterday they posted a trend alert for Metal Toe Caps… TopShop MAPLE Metal Toe Caps Pumps and they used to be for working individuals doing on site labor. They mentioned that these flats would make statement and I totally agree! I saw them and right away, a military look came to mind, why not I could pay a little homage to my days in the Army… Yes, you read right I Chica Fashion did a “stint” as I like to call it in the army. Military Chic... Back to this AMAZING outfit, I paired the flats with cropped denim pants; which every girl should have… there is something ambiguously sexy about a crop pant. Maybe it’s the “Ankle Cleavage”. I could not get over that ASHLEY Military Women’s Jacket By Tilly’s with all the contrasting gold toned hardware, zippers, pockets and epaulets; it’s a stealat only $39.99!
I played up on the theme adding a camouflage tank, military insignia inspired accessories in gold and bronze tones. I found the most marvelous LAYERED MILITARY CHARM NECKLACE from Express. A statement necklace full of rhinestones, metal charms, polished beads and a leather cord. It was the perfect piece to bring this look full circle. Like always my hair piece, the perfect hair comb to top of your high bun. After looking at that Stationary Set Dress again from LuLu’s I thought it was a great dress that would transition easily from a day to night look. You can take this dress from a walk in the park to the club with your girls. When doing the day look I wanted to make the outfit more casual but still keep it fun and cute. Whether you are going to go to the supermarket or Target you still have to be a Chica Fashion… right?! *wink* A walk in the park…Left to Right: 1. Earrings by NORDSTROM Dabby Reid Ltd. The signature piece in getting this outfit to transition from night to day is the Westbound open stich cardigan, this open-stitch cotton cardigan features elbow-length sleeves and a single large buttonclosure at the neck. My BFF @Pinkbulie and I choose to go with hot pink or fuchsia as our statement color for this look. The accessories are also in a different direction, a bit simpler and toned down yet very fashionable. In keeping with the theme of trying to change the look up, we opted to go with gold tones for the accessories and jewelry versus silver like in the night look. And we cannot forget my signature hair accessory, a headband which can be worn with you hair up or down. I hope you guys enjoy the look we came up with … |
