My fav color happens to be green. I love just about all shades of green. Growing up though, I had a slight obssesion with hunter green. Now days my new go to shade is olive green also known as army green or military green. If you had the chance to read my 26 & FABULOUS I have a pair of olive green jeans I bought for 10 bucks from a place called The Edge near my home. I wore them once, but had been dying to wear them with some military style boots. However I didn't own any up until this week. I placed an order from my sister's fav online store makemechic.com. You can see some of her hauls It was there that I saw these lovely booties! A wedge ankle boot from Breckelle's. Features a rounded toe, crinkle leatherette, lace up front and full side zipper. Finished with 3.75" wedge. They are so cute and comfortable, the perfect boot to go with my military inspired look. This outfit was pretty simple, I wore my olive skinny jeans, cargo skinnies would work just as well if not better; I don't own a pair just yet. I have on a plain long sleeve cotton top from Old Navy and you are going to think I'm nuts but it's actually a maternity top from when I was pregnant with Naliya! I threw my new belt over it, also in olive green. It has a lace up bustier front. It works to cinch my waist and to add another layer to my look. Besides the fact the finishes on the belt are bronzed, whenever I think military, I automatically think brushed gold. Therefore, when it came to the accessories I went with brushed gold earrings and necklace. Both items you see are from the Chica Fashion Women’s Accessories Store. I also had a tri-color stretch bracelet my mother gave me for my birthday. I put my hair in a high bun with a bump in the front to create a classic clean do. Overall, this look was fun, quick and easy. I felt relaxed and found it quite appealing. Below are similar items you can buy to copy my look.
For those of you who follow me on twitter and actually read my tweets, you know how I have been longing for a sequin blazer.
I found two possible options, however one is a Garcia Sequin Blazer $88 and the other is a Kensie Jaket at $99.99.
Now to some that may sound pretty reasonable or maybe inexpensive. However, for me, a budget fashionista that is out of the price range I was willing to spend. I do give myself a free pass every now and then for a splurge Item and I think that this sequin blazer maybe it.
Of course, I will try to save as much as I can which is why I may go with the $99.99 Kensie Jacket, Three Quarter Sleeve Sequined Blazer from Macy’s. It is marked down from $128 and I will be using a coupon! Hopefully a 20% off and if I can locate it at one of my local Macy's I won't have to pay for shipping. What is with my latest obsession, a sequin blazer? Oh, I don’t know maybe that It can be either dressed up or down and that the possibilities are endless.
Here is my take on 4 likely ways that I will be rocking this blazer…
The first look: banded sparkle mini, shiny tank body suit, over the knee boots and gold accessories The second look: satin sheen military shorts, luminescent tank, high heel strappy sandal, with pewter accessories The third look: stretch skinny pants in sliver, lace racer-back tank, peep-toe booties and black accessories. The fourth look: Jersey tank slip dress in olive, lace front peep-toe bootie with gold accessories. Need less to say all will be finished off with the Sequin Blazer! Its official I’m addicted to leopard! I noticed I have a leopard dress, tank top, shirt, and cardigan…
So, about that cardi; after working all day on getting the store together I rushed home to get ready for a friend’s baby shower. I really had no idea what I wanted to wear, instead of getting dressed first and then doing my hair like I usually do, I did my hair first and that inspired my outfit for the night. Hello friends! I first want to apologize for being so distant and MIA the past few weeks. I have been uber busy playing project manager during the process of opening my women’s fashion accessories store. I know there are many bloggers who blog their every move and keep everyone up to date and posted with the happenings. Unfortunately, I have been far too occupied and tired to even try to create posts. However, I am more than happy to say that I am back and better than ever. Now that the business is officially up and running there will be many blog posts to come! We had our Grand Opening on Saturday and it went as smooth as it could have. I am extremely thankful and very appreciative of the friends and family that helped me bring it all together. I defiantly had a vision and a deadline and they helped me reach my goal. No good deed goes unnoticed. Sadly, as much as I anticipated, rather expected a larger showing and more friends and family to join me I extend immense gratitude to those who did make it their personal business to come and share the second biggest moment in my life; the first being the birth of my daughter Naliya. Nonetheless, I did it! I quit my job, opened my own business, went after my dreams & continue to do so… Please let me know what you would like to see more of on the blog and of any looks you need help with. I will be more than glad to assist. Hi, I know it has been a few days since my last post. Things have still been busy with the store opening, which is going to be on Saturday 11/13! The location of the store is 95 Van Houten St. Paterson, NJ 07505. .I am very excited and anxious; hopefully all goes well. I know have a Facebook page were you can see pictures of the store and stay up to date with the happenings. Please feel free to stop by the store! Today’s post is for my Mini Chica Fashion featuring my baby girl Naliya. I would say about two weeks ago on a Sunday I took her to JcPenny for her second photo shoot ever. The first was a 4 months and now again at 8 months-well 9 months and 1 day. I may have a problem however because I cannot go anywhere with a baby/children’s section and not want to get something for her. While we waited for our turn at the picture studio, we browsed the baby area (I say we but it was more like I). It was there where I saw “it” the cutest little “boys” OSHKOSH® Plaid Bodysuit – a one-piece button up shirt. I grabbed it not only because it was only 8.00 after a 40% off sale and TADAA, it was about to become Naliya’s (Na-Li-ah pronounced in Spanish) first Boyfriend Shirt. It is literally a boy’s shirt but it looks unisex and I believe babies clothing does not differ in size if it is boys or girls. I purchased the one in red that you see and I purchased one in green that is actual flannel. That same night to go out to dinner I dressed her up in her new shirt… I paired the shirt with her boyfriend her dark wash denim Boyfriend Jeans (6-12M) from Gap that I had bought for her from Gap.com when she was about 4 months and the still fit! For the shoes, I went with her red ballerina flats also from the Gap, however these were actually purchased from The Good Will store in Paramus, NJ. Which reminds me I have not been back since and should stop by. I do not remember how much they were exactly but they were brand new and had to be 5 bucks or less; otherwise I would have never even have bought them. The two hair clips she is wearing in the photo are from a local beauty supply store, they were right by the register at two for a dollar. As you can see even a Mini Chica Fashion can dress on a dime and still look fab! |
