My latest new “favorite”… Royal Blue also known as Cobalt Blue, it is bright, energetic and I find that it goes well with everything. It can be a bit daring and risky for those who like to stick with the black. I say why not take a walk on the bold side.

In keeping with my latest obsession, sequin; I decided to dedicate today's blog post to not only my first #TuesdayShoesDay contribution but also to my first wedding related post in honor of earning my way to becoming an official #TWIPS member. I gave this post a lot of thought because I wanted to include the two topics previously mentioned. What better way than SHOES to blend the two! I wanted to feature shoes that can be used for a wedding and had that "SPARKLE" like my favorite, sequins. In searching for something worthy, I came across a wonderful shoe designer Lauren Jones whom you may or may not have heard of. Nonetheless, she has the most beautiful shoes! Here is my Christmas Wish List in response to her post. I did not have much to put on my list, perhaps because the things that my heart truly desires aren’t material. However, after taking the time to think about what it is that I would like to receive I came up with a few things… 1. Nine West Divara2. Madden Girl Zarah Riding Boot3. Corset-Style Belt4. Vero Moda Ruched Sleeve Dress5. Gift Cards for Forever 21, Victoria’s Secret (for the clothes people) and Charlotte Russe6. Remote Engine Start7.Tints for my car8.Rampage Raveyn Croc Rain Boot9.Steve Madden Hooded Pea CoatThis Then I remembered my new over-the-knee riding boots from my recent makemechic.com boot haul, I decided I would wear those today as well. If you keep up with my blog and me then you may already know how much I enjoy the look of thigh-high socks. I have a grey pair from Target that I thought would work well with my boots. I find that layering socks with boots are a look that works well and adds great dimension to an outfit. So there I was standing with black leggings, grey thigh-high socks and black over-the-knee riding boots; in need of a top to go with my ensemble. After rustling through my drawer of shirts I pulled out a grey V-neck Charlotte Russe tee, tried it on and it looked great! I let out my pin curls, put on my black beaded cross necklace as an accessory and did a 5-minute face. My 5-minute face included a crème foundation from a compact, white eye shadow shimmer, grey eye shadow, lash blast and gloss. Here are a few items you can buy to copy my look… Lately I have been slacking a bit on my blog with the new store and all, which is why I was not able to post my look worn on Thanksgiving. I had on a wool-like off the shoulder sweater from Forever 21. I purchased that top I believe, 3 years ago. I had never worn it before because when I bought it, I had not realized that it had torn at the neck. Instead of exchanging it, I put it at the bottom of my sweater bin and forgot about it. A few months ago on a trip to service my car I found a Goodwill store, there I bought my sister and myself a pair of boyfriend jeans. Mine were American Eagle and hers were by Mossimo. Both brand new, except mine were missing the five buttons in the front. I threw the jeans in a bag to take to the tailor and on that same trip; I took the sweater as well. I am glad I did because I forgot how flattering of a top it was. I paired it with my trusty three-year-old torn skinnies, which by the way I have in two tones because I just love them so much. I rolled them up roughly; just enough to show my ankle and to display my new booties from makemechic.com. The booties are in a shade called hazel, they are a mix between a light brown and olive green; Very cute if I do say so myself. As weird as it may sound I have been going light on the accessories lately and that is odd since I own fashion jewelry store. What I did instead to play up the collar of the sweater was, put my hair in a high bun, elongating my neck and creating a subtle sexiness appropriate for a Thanksgiving dinner with the family. I had many good laughs that night and felt comfortable and chic! Here is how you can copy my look… With the holidays at toe, there are many office parties, family gatherings and affairs to celebrate the season and bring in the New Year with friends. All perfect occasions to be all dolled and glammed up in my new “love” SEQUINS. Below are my picks in Sequin for this holiday |
