Last week Flor and Nany challenged bloggers to make tennis shoes look chic. Like always I am late for the challenge but thought it was cool and wanted to do it any way. Here is how I made my tennis shoes look chic... I paired my all black Converse with some cropped-high-waist-pleated slacks from H&M, a basic black tee & statement necklace from Forever 21. My bangles are from all over the place, I just picked all the ones that went with the necklace and threw them on. Hope you like my look! In this weekly special, they challenge readers and bloggers around the globe to wear specific trends- and they would love if everyone could join them. Every Tuesday they’ll publish next week’s challenge, on Mondays: they’ll show you how they wore the trend and you’ll be able to share your link & outfit their blog. You can also upload your pictures to Nany’s Klozet Facebook or Flor de Maria Fashion Facebook. We were inspired by “Bloggers do it better” but they want to give it their own twist to it! This week’s it is “We Challenge You To … Take Over Someone Else’s Closet” I choose to take over my sister’s closet, my mom was my first choice but then I remembered any cool vintage pieces she would have had burned in our house fire in 2007. My sister and I have very similar taste when it comes to fashion so going to her closet was a no brainer. Even though our fashion styles are alike there are things that she wears that I often do not. In this case it is fedora’s and deep v-necklines. I happen to have a bigger chest than she so I don’t often lean towards deep V’s although it does flatter me. As far as the fedora goes, I don’t know why I have never picked one up. I like hats especially winter hats and have worn floppy hats but never a fedora. When putting together the outfit I knew right away I wanted to wear her hat.Hope you guys like what I came up with using my sisters closet, all items are hers except the jewelry. Thanks for visiting! For more on this week’s challenge click here. For this challenge I chose to wear a purple top and an orange pant. I love that these pants only cost me 8 bucks in the Dominican Republic, they fit like a glove. Like how I wore contrasting colors? Let me know! Thanks for stopping by… Dejen me saber! Gracias siempre por visitar… Hi guys! I bring to you another Bloggers Do It Better Challenge… Color Block with Primary Colors. I purchased these high waist shorts a few years back and have never worn them but I thought they were perfect for this week’s challenge. After viewing the pictures all I could hear was my sister’s voice saying “you’re a mom now, you shouldn’t be wearing those short shorts” ha-ha… Who cares what she thinks, I look and feel great in them. The high waist gives the shorts a pinup girl feel which is always classy in my book so I ran with that idea and played it up. Hope you like my look and give color blocking with primary colors a try if you do, post a picture on the Chica Fashion Fan Page. (Español) Hola! Aquí les traigo otro reto de Bloggers Do It Better…. I combined both Flor and Nany’s “Polka Dot” challenge with Pretty Shiny Sprakly’s “Neon + Neutral” challenge.
I for one love polka dots because they can be played up for a fun care free look but can also be used in chic classy looks. If you know me or have seen my outfits, you can clearly see I’m not afraid of bold or bright colors so neon colors are more than welcome as part of my wardrobe. So combining these two trends wasn’t a problem at all. Hope you guys like how I mixed the two, thanks for stopping by! Dress/ Vestido- NY & Co, Belt/ Cintoron- H&M Necklace/Collar- Joyce Leslie Watch/Reloj- Forever 21 Shoes/ Calsados- Baker's I am really loving these “Bloggers Do It Better” challenges; they are not only fun but also test my fashion abilities. Today’s post is on “Color Blocking”. As I had mentioned in my last post I joined the challenges a few weeks after they had already started so I am a bit behind. Now I could have just picked up on the most recent challenge; however I wanted to try out the trends that were a part of the challenges. This is my take on “Color Blocking” I choose to use my accessories versus only using articles of clothing to color block. I went with a green necklace, yellow watch, orange dress, blue belt, and hot pink shoes. Tell me what you think and thanks for stopping by! As with my last post this one is also a “Bloggers Do It Better” challenge since I am a few weeks behind I want to try and catch up. The first challenge was “I challenge you to wear... a MAXI SKIRT!” I wasn’t able to participate due to the fact that I didn’t own a maxi skirt since it was one of my summer wish list items I set out to find one this weekend. I didn’t think it would be difficult to find but turns out that Marshall’s doesn’t carry a wide varity of maxi skirts. So what I did was purchase a maxi dress and decided that it was better than just a skirt because I can now use it 4 ways! I can wear it as a high waist, mid-waist, or low rise maxi skirt as well as a dress. As you can see in the pictures I wore it as a high waist skirt for the challenge. I hope you all enjoy my look and thank you for stopping by!
