I guess that it could be because I have a creative spirit. Events like birthdays & weddings in particular allow for my creativity to run wild. However when it comes to your own special day everything takes a new twist. Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure of planning my own big day but I have had the pleasure of being on the inside of a few very close relative’s wedding day preparations. Oh and I have seen one too many episodes of bridezillas and David Tutera’s my fair wedding. I just want to share what I would have in my “bridal survival kit”. Here would be a few essentials to help get through the special day: 1. “Day of the Wedding” Event Planner This pocket book planer with all of the wedding industry’s best kept planning secrets and methods in one little tool. It will fit right in your bridal bag. Which leads me to my second item for my kit, a… 2. A Bridal Bag You will be taking pictures left and right but will still need a lipstick or lip gloss, besides where are you supposed to carry everything from your kit? You do not want to carry anything to large but a cute bag to match your dress is a must. 3. Tide to Go Pen Too many drinks, lots of laughs and surprise you just spilled something on your dress. Keep this handy in your purse and you will be good to go! 4. Dove Clear Tone Antiperspirant Deodorant is a must! This particular one especially for me is awesome because it helps to not only keep you fresh, dry and protected but it also helps to even skin tone by reducing darks spots cause by shaving. It will moisturize and renew the skin under your arms if used daily on the weeks leading to your big day, you will feel confident all night in your strapless gown. Vanessa Mota, 27, Long Island, New York 2) Name of your blog? Smart Little Cookie 3) How did you come up with the name for your blog? About a year ago I became obsessed with learning how to bake and the idea was to create a blog in which I could share my experience in this new adventure. However, baking did not come as easy as I thought it would be. With two kids, a husband and being a full time student, learning the ins and outs of precise measurement, mixing, beating, folding, creaming, temperature, texture - well you get the point - while taking amazing pictures and blogging about it, became a bit overwhelming. So after some thought, I decided to turn my blog into something that came more natural to me, that is to share my experience as a student mom who sometimes cooks and is trying to learn how to bake. 4) How long have you Blogging? I have been blogging for about a year now 5) Why and how you decided to enter the world of blogging? I just really wanted to be a part of this amazing community of bloggers while at the same time help improve my writing skills 6) What if any is the difference between a blogger in the U..S. and the Dominican Republic? I don't really believe there is any difference at all. Everyone, whether they are Dominican or not, puts their own identity into their blog. There are a lot of great Dominican bloggers out there who have become very influential, especially in the area of fashion - hello! Have you heard of Chica Fashion? 7) In 6 months where do you see yourself as a blogger and where do you see your blog? I hope to be able to dedicate more time to my blog, to grow as a blogger and a writer. 8) What is your goal for your blog in 5 years? When it comes to my blog, I really don't plan that far ahead. I like to take it one post at a time. Hopefully, my blog can inspire young moms out there and help them overcome some of the small hurdles of life while still enjoying their experiences. 9) How do you describe your personal style? Being honest I really don't know how to describe my style. I am not a big fashionista, but I do like to dress nice and look good. I like to wear simple comfortable pieces, that are both classy and chic. 10) For who or for which blog would like to be a blog guest blogger on? There are quite a lot of blogs that I am attracted to. I really like Spanglish Baby and Latina Bloggers Connect. They offer great insight for Latina moms and aspiring Latina bloggers. 11) What trends are you currently loving and which ones do you dislike? The trend I really like right now is color blocking. I am more of a neutral colors kind of girl. However, I am now becoming very attracted to color. I already started experimenting into brightening up my closet a little bit. 12) How do you shop, on a budget, online, thrifting? Well I really was an over-spender when it came to clothes and especially shoes. I mean, if I really liked something I didn't care how much I had to pay, I would just get it. I have to say, Chica Fashion has really influenced me into being more budget conscious. I am now saving quite a bit of money. I usually buy clothes with a set budget in mind for the whole month. I try to find good deals, store sales and sometimes use my mailed-in coupons. 13) Music you are currently listening to? I like mostly all kinds of music. I listen to whatever I feel like listening to at any particular moment, so I could be listening to bachata now and later listen to merengue or pop. 14) What are the rules you always use when you're blogging about fashion? I don't blog about fashion, but if I had the opportunity I would do an "outfit of the day" post. I really love to see bloggers who do this. It helps create ideas for putting your own outfits together. (I always forget to take out this question when I send over the interview to non-fashion bloggers lol) 15) Your favorite dish and your favorite restaurant? I love seafood. If it was up to me I would dine out everyday in a different restaurant all of the time. I completely enjoy eating out, especially if there is wine involved. ;-) 16) Anything you would like readers to know about you or your blog? Smart Little Cookie is a blog for women, moms, students who believe life is a learning process and to really live it's necessary to enjoy the little things the world offers. 1) Nombre/edad/residencia? Vanessa Mota, 27, Long Island, New York 2) Nombre de su blog? ¿Has oído hablar de Chica Fashion? 9) Como describirías to estilo personal? Siendo honesta, realmente no sé cómo describir mi estilo.
