2015 Academy Awards Get the Look: Jennifer Lopez + Zoe Saldana

MAKEUP ARTIST: Mary Phillips for L’Oréal Paris   

INSPIRATION: A departure from Jennifer’s Golden Globes look, Mary’s inspiration was drawn mostly by Jennifer’s sparkly, ethereal gown.  As such, she stuck to a monochromatic palette of warm peaches and diffused bronzes around her eye, paired with a cool toned pink lip that had glacier blue undertones. The moment felt very royal – almost princess-like.

STEP-BY-STEP:

STEP 1: Mary prepped the skin with L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Moisture Blur ($24.99)

INSPIRATION: “Jennifer’s dress was truly the inspiration behind her hair tonight. I wanted to keep Jennifer’s big, beautiful dress the star of the show, and so her hairstyle was simple and chic. The sleek high ponytail was also great for the rainy weather!”

STEP-BY-STEP:

INSPIRATION: “Tonight it was all about the dress. The gown was the star of the show and we wanted to create a monochromatic, tonal nail look that would enhance the overall look.”

STEP-BY-STEP:
STEP 1: Tom added a little length to nails with clear tips to create a 1930s almond shape
STEP 2: For a subtle, sparkly contrast, he applied L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in I Like It Chunky ($5.99) underneath the nail, adding a pop of rose gold

ZOE SALDANA (HAIR)

INSPIRATION: “Zoe wore a beautifully sexy Versace gown so I wanted her hair to have a sexy, Sophia Loren and Italian-inspired feel”

STEP-BY-STEP:
Step 1: To begin, use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner like L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Power Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner ($4.99 each)
Step 2: Mara applied L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It High Lift Creation Spray ($4.99) and roughdried it into the hair, making a defined, center part
Step 3: Once hair was dry, she used a 1’’ ghd Curve Classic Curl Iron ($245), taking random sections of the hair and wrapping it around the iron
Step 4: After curling, she brushed out the hair with her hands to loosen the waves. She wanted it to have a natural, smoothed-out texture. She then sprayed L’Oreal Paris Elnett Extra Hold Hairspray ($14.99) all over
Step 5: She then started playing with the shape of the hair, pulling pieces back section-by-section; first gathered the top half of the hair using bobby pins, then moved onto the bottom sections wrapping them up and pinning it up. She let some pieces naturally fall down to soften the look
