This past weekend I had the awesome opportunity to attend Family Movie Night with US Weekly & Orville Redenbacher's Popcorn at Boston's Prudential Center Courtyard & Garden. I had never been to Boston and was pretty excited for the road trip. My husband was unable to attend due to work but my Mom is the ultimate co-pilot and was more than happy to accompany me and the kids.
The ride in was beautiful, quite scenic, and it took us exactly 2 pit stops and 4 hours with absolutely no traffic. We stayed at Boston Marriott Copley Place although conveniently located about a mile from Fenway Park I had no time for my photo with the green monster. However I was able to take in the beautiful views of the city and the Charles River available from the 34th floor. I loved how accessible the Prudential Center was via the Sky Bridge, the kids loved this feature.
After settling into our room we headed over to the Prudential Center Courtyard & Garden for the Family Movie Night. We enjoyed the fun activities they had available for the children. There were complimentary blankets, a coloring area with jumbo coloring book, fresh Orville Redenbacher's Movie Theater Popcorn and a super cool photo flipbook station. We found a great spot right in the middle with an awesome view of the screen, ate pizza we had picked up and had popcorn until we almost popped. I am glad we brought our own pre-popped Orville Redenbacher's Popcorn, we ended up having extra and ate it on the way home! I had packed a blanket and cardigans but it was pretty breezy, next time I will bundle up a little better or add extra layers for the kids and I.
I called ahead of time and let my blogger bestie Lisa of Lisa a la Mode know that I would be in town— we met up at a restaurant and I finally got to meet her adorable little baby boy as well as caught up on a little girl talk. Our kids played, I had the most delicious DUTCH APPLE CARAMEL STREUSEL cheesecake, I cannot wait to have more! After a few TV Show reruns and a few monkeys jumping on the bed we went to sleep.
The next morning we asked the concierge where we can get some good breakfast and were recommended Thornton's two blocks from the hotel on Huntington ave. My mother and I both had Alex's 2s, two sausage links, two strips of bacon, two slices of toast, two pancakes, two eggs and a side of home fries. Let me just say that those fries were beyond delicious, amazing! We ended our trip with a visit to my mother's cousin in Dorchester— a 15-minute drive from the hotel, thank God for GPS. Once again we were blessed with no traffic on our ride back and saw the most beautiful rainbow when driving through Connecticut. I will definitely be back to Boston soon hopefully it will coincide with another fun Orville Redenbacher family event!
