It has taken me two years to post my son, Aarlen's Woody's Roundup first birthday party. He just turned 3, before I share the details of that birthday I thought I would give you all the details on how to host a Woody's Roundup/ cowboy/ western themed birthday party. As you saw here, I had a western themed baby shower, with most parties I plan, I save as many supplies as I can. I knew right away that I would have be giving Aarlen a Cowboy themed birthday to be able to use the majority of the decor I had saved. With the exception of a Woody birthday party pack I bought from an Etsy seller and a few other items from Amazon and the dollar tree, I had most of the things I needed for the party. Western Inspired Food and Desserts I bought all of the ingredients and food items from Costco. I made s'mores marshmallow pops, those were a huge hit! The menu included,
Costco sells a really awesome mango peach salsa as well as a pretty good guacamole, I served them in a bakeware dishes. Their chicken taquitos are also really good and as you can see everything is pre-made, which makes for easy cowboy themed food. As soon as I saw the bandana like western serving tray I had to order it! I prepared the chilli in my Crock Pot and served it with shredded cheese and freshly chopped onions. These Marshmallow pops were beyond easy to make and were the biggest hit of the party! Here is what you will need, large marshmallows, lollipop sticks, graham crackers and chocolate melting wafers. I used a tin can decorated with ribbon and twin to place a few in. I also used a small hay bale as the base for the rest of my marshmallow S'mores pops. Popcorn is a western food right? Well to make it look fitting for a cowboy I placed it in brown paper lunch bags and a plastic popcorn tub. For a little more touches of cowboy, I placed western buttermints in a large tin can. Western Party Cake and CupcakesI think it was with this party that I began to use Shoprite and Costco cakes, and cupcakes. They taste great, are inexpensive and readily accessible. I wrapped a piece of ribbon around the cake, added a Woody figurine, paper pennant banner from the same Etsy seller and a number one candle. Simple yet effective. I am a huge Toy Story fan and naturally I'm sharing my love with my son. I opted for a Woody figurine as a cake topper because it can be washed and then played with. Wooden ABC blocks go with the whole child, Toy Story's Woody theme and just add another element of decor and texture. Cowboy and Cowgirl DrinksFor the drinks I filled one beverage dispenser with lemonade and the other with iced tea as well as water. I used my trust Starbuck's Frap glass milk bottles with a red and white paper straws, and a piece of twine. I found that at the time purchasing 2, 12 packs of Starbucks Frappuccino beverages and removing the labels was a cheaper alternative than buying glass milk bottles. I love the way the milk bottles look with a paper straws. Each time I use the bottles I tie a ribbon around the neck that goes with the theme. If you don't already own beverage dispensers, you should get a set. I find them to be a good investment if you entertain often. I filled mine with iced tea and lemonade, refreshing drinks for the cowboys and cowgirls at the party. Toy Story's Woody Decor/DetailsI used a variety of items to decorate the western party, when paired all together it made for a wonderful Woody's Roundup birthday. I used red, blue and cow print table covers. As a runner I used a piece of burlap, along with the runner I placed a few bandanas and a tin can with fake flowers. A Toy Story Woody Peel & Stick Giant Wall Decal made for super cute party decor and added more Woody touches to the western birthday. The Woody on the tin can is just a Woody image printed from the web and glued to two pieces of stock card. I made the tissue pom poms myself using a simple DIY I found on Pinterest to make sure the colors matched my western theme, however there are a ton of pom poms available for purchase. I picked up a giant Woody pinata from Party City and stuffed it with western confetti and candy! More Photos!Everyone had a wonderful time at Aarlen's Woody's Roundup first birthday party! I loved putting this western themed party together. My favorite part was seeing my little one in his cowboy party hat. Ready to plan your own Woody party? Pick up everything you need from here. |
