Blogger mom + Valentine's weekend, means having a friend over from school goes from just watching movies and eating a PB & J, to a Valentine's play date decked with a full-fledged tablescape. Here is how I set up a mini Galentine's date for my daughter and her bestie for less that $40!

Tablecover

To start I used a Dollar Tree plastic table cover taped in place to showcase the festive border. Because I use risers to create height and depth on the table, I used a lace tablecloth(borrowed from my mom). The lace table cloth not only conceals my risers but also adds to the romanticism and femininity of Valentine's day. What do I use for risers you ask? regular 'ol empty tupperware containers.

I ordered a tassel garland off of Amazon, these scream party all on their own. Next I added a felt heart garland, I am almost sure I got this from Target's dollar section a few years ago. So far I am only $13 bucks in but remember I save almost all supplies and decor.

Drinks

You have seen these milk bottles many times, they first appeared at Naliya's Lalaloopsy 3rd Birthday Party. They are simply empty Starbucks frap bottles that have been cleaned with Goo Gone. The mason jar pitcher you have seen in Girls Night In: Havana Nights Theme post, it was on sale for only $9.99. The straws are from Little Cowboy: My Western Themed Baby Shower. Even the tulle tied around the bottles has been used before in Naliya's Frozen 5th Birthday Pajama Party. Told you I save as many decorations as possible. This helps cut costs next time I host an event.

This "Lil Love mini Carvel cake was from Shoprite, it was on sale for $12.99 after a $3 off in-store coupon. The paper doilies are from the Dollar Tree. And this adorable little cake stand was 5 bucks from Target's dollar bins.
