Crop Top + $10 High Waist Jeans

Have you ever seen a trend you wanted to try but were afraid that you just may not be able to pull it off? Me too! That's how I felt about the platinum/grey hair, crop tops and high waist jeans. All super fun and cute trends, but trends that may not be for my body type. However, I gave them a go, all at once, and honestly I loved the results!

Like most moms I have the dreaded mom pooch. You know that lower belly fat/muffin top that no matter how many diets you attempt or how many hours you spend at the gym you're unable to get rid of.

I thought the best solution would be high waist jeans. They are very stylish, comfortable and help control the bulge. I'm extremely picky and hard on myself so I can see my tummy pudging out through the jeans but you really have to stare.

Crops tops pair perfectly with high waist jeans and if the top isn't too short you can get the right shirt to belly to Jean ratio going and pull off the trend.

When I first tried this look I thought it's too youthful, I'm too fat, my butt isn't big enough, my waist isn't small enough, you can see my post acne dark marks on my shoulders, I wish I had bigger hips, people are going to see this wig and think I look ridiculous. I have a tons of insecurities but oddly enough I can also walk with them with my head held high. Nothing foundation and lipstick can't get me through lol!

But honestly I can't sit back and watch my life go by because I'm sitting on the sidelines due to my insecurities. Everyone has insecurities, even the women on social media with their "beat faces", perfect feeds and 20 thousand followers. It sounds funny but knowing that, is refreshing. It makes me feel better about my own insecurities and helps me to cope with them.

I have a long way to go before I will feel completely comfortable in my own skin. Certain places and people will probably make me feel even more self conscious but I'll fake till I make it, flip my wig and keep it going.
