2) Name of your blog?
Miss Rizos

3) How did you come up with the name for your blog?
It really just came to me. I was debating between Mis Rizos (My Curls) and Miss Rizos (Miss Curls) and then felt that my hair or lack of hair represented a crown, a symbol of my beauty and decided to go with Miss Curls! 

4) How long have you been Blogging? 
I've been blogging for a very long time actually. I started two blogs for my college classes in 2006, then I started a blog misaventurasaroundtheworld.blogspot.com right after I graduated college in 2009. This blog documented my travels and adventures around the world and the things I experienced being back in the Dominican Republic. In 2010 I started to blog about my hair in two different blogs, one was in English dominicanagoingnatural.blogspot.com and the other one in Spanish cabellobueno.blogspot.com. I started blogging for Miss Rizos in 2011 a year after being natural. 

5) Why and how did you decide to enter the world of blogging?
I love communicating with people. I went to school and majored in French and studied a bit of Arabic. I can speak Spanish fluently and I am now learning how to speak Portuguese. Having all my blogs allowed to use my language skills and communicate with others. My Mis Aventuras blog was actually like an online journal. It was a place where I could deposit my thoughts, my fears, my dreams. I loved writing on there and when I didn't I really missed it.

I feel like I officially entered the bloggersphere after I started Miss Rizos because there was an actual audience and a lot of feedback and ineraction. I decided to do this one because I felt like there was a void. At the time I started blogging there were no Dominican blogs about hair and there were very few blogs or resources in Spanish for women who wanted to go natural, who were already natural, or who just wanted to read about it. 

6) What if any is the difference between a blogger in the U.S. and the Dominican Republic?
I don't know if there are any differences really. I can say I am just now getting the U.S. perspective because I just moved back here, so maybe in a few months I will notice if there are any differences.  

7) In 6 months where do you see yourself as a blogger and where do you see your blog?
I love blogging because it not only allows you to inspire people, but as a blogger you are constantly being inspired by other people's experiences, talents and beauty. I see my blog growing and reaching a new English speaking audience through The Curly Corner, an English blog on missrizos.com.  

8) What is your goal for your blog in 5 years?
I am not sure, I just want to keep writing.   

9) How do you describe your personal style?
Although I don't necessarily consider myself a fashionista, I LOVE FASHION. I love colors and patterns. My style really varies on my mood and the occasion. I feel like I have a bit of a vintage, bohemian style with a touch of modern prints and bright colors.

10) For who or for which blog would like to be a blog guest blogger on?
I would love to be a guest blogger in a popular travel blog. I love traveling and would love to write more about it!

11) What trends are you currently loving and which ones do you dislike?
I am loving the bright colors and the patterns. I've never been a fan of the asymmetric clothing and I've been seeing a lot of that lately. 

12) How do you shop, on a budget, online, thrifting?
I always shop on a budget. I still haven't made "that" purchase of an expensive bag or pair of shoes. I love thrifting from Goodwill to the local flea market. I love vintage, but refuse to pay an arm and a leg for it. While I was in the DR I would always go to La Duarte con Paris and go to what we call the "Agachate Boutiques" which translates into the "Bending Down Boutiques" because the clothes are often on the floor.

I am also an expert at shopping on a budget and finding the best deals! Just yesterday I bought some really cute flats at Ann Taylor originally $78, I got them for $11! I also have a really cute Gap trench coat that was originally $200 and I purchased for $50. My friends make fun of me because I sometimes go into stores and manage to find things as low as 97 cents! Oh last one, the other day I found these BALLY shoes at a vintage shop for get this, $1 ($300 shoes)!!! 

13) Music you are currently listening to?
I am currently listening to this amazing young lady from Britain, her name is Lianne La Havas, she is everything! 

14) Your favorite dish and/or favorite restaurant?
This is always a hard question because I love food and have too many favorites, like seriously too many. I love Dominican, Afghan, Mexican, Peruvian, Salvadorian, Italian, French, Japanese and Middle Eastern cuisine among many others! Right now I am obsessed with this tiny restaurant on Charles St. in Boston called Figs. They have the best brick oven thin crust pizza I've ever had and oh their mussels are to die for!

3) ¿Cómo se te ocurrió el nombre de tu blog?
En realidad, a mí sólo vino. Me debatía entre Mis Rizos y Miss Rizos  y luego sentí que mi cabello o falta de cabello representava una corona, símbolo de mi belleza y decidi ir con Miss Rizos!

4) ¿Cuánto tiempo llevas blogueando?
He estado blogueando desde hace mucho tiempo en realidad. Empecé con dos blogs para mis clases de la universidad en el 2006, y luego empecé el blog misaventurasaroundtheworld.blogspot.com justo después de graduarme de la universidad en el 2009. Este blog documento mis viajes y aventuras en todo el mundo y las cosas que he experimentado en la República Dominicana. En 2010 empecé a bloguear sobre el cabello en dos blogs distintos, uno en Inglés dominicanagoingnatural.blogspot.com y el otro, cabellobueno.blogspot.com en español. Yo empecé a bloguear para Miss Rizos en 2011 un año después de ser natural.

5) ¿Por qué y cómo se decidiste a entrar en el mundo de los blogs? 
Me encanta comunicarme con la gente. Fui a la escuela y estudie Francés y un poco de árabe. Puedo hablar español con fluidez y ahora estoy aprendiendo a hablar portugués. Teniendo todos mis blogs me permite usar mis habilidades de lengua y comunicar me con los demás. Mi Blog Mis Aventuras en realidad era como un diario en línea. Era un lugar donde pude depositar mis pensamientos, mis miedos, mis sueños. Me encantaba escribir allí y cuando no lo hice yo realmente me hacia falta.

Siento que entre oficialmente en el bloggersphere después de que comenze  Miss Rizos porque había un público real y un montón de comentarios y ineraction. Decidí hacer esto porque sentía que había un vacío. En el momento en que empecé a bloguear no había blogs Dominicanos sobre el cabello natural y había muy pocos blogs o recursos en español para mujeres que querían ser natural, que ya eran naturales, o que sólo quería leer sobre él.

6) ¿Cual si hay alguna es la diferencia entre un blogger en los U. S.. y la República Dominicana? 
No sé si hay alguna diferencia realmente. Puedo decir que estoy ahora recibiendo la perspectiva de EE.UU. porque me mudé aquí, hace un par meses. Vere dentro de unos meses me si  me doy cuenta si hay alguna diferencias.

7) En 6 meses, cuando te ves como blogger y donde ves tu blog?
Me encanta blog, ya que no sólo le permite inspirar a la gente, sino como un blogger constantemente uno mismo se inspira con las experiencias de otras personas, su talento y belleza. Veo a mi blog crecer y llegar a una nueva audiencia la cual habla Inglés a través de The Corner Curly, un blog en Inglés en missrizos.com.

8) ¿Adonde vez tu blog dentro de 5 años?
No estoy segura, sólo quiero seguir escribiendo.
9) ¿Cómo describirías tu estilo personal?
Aunque no me considero una fashionista, me encanta la moda. Me encantan los colores y patrones. Mi estilo realmente varía en mi estado de ánimo y la ocasión. Me siento como si tuviera un poco de un estilo bohemio vintage con un toque de estampados modernos y colores brillantes.

10) ¿Para quién o para cual blog te gustaria ser una blogger invitada? 
Me encantaría ser un blogger invitado en un blog de viajes popular. Me encanta viajar y me encantaría escribir más sobre eso mas!

11) ¿Qué tendencias te gustan y cuáles no te gustan? 
Soy amante de los colores vivos y los patrones. Nunca he sido un fan de la ropa asimétrica y he estado viendo mucho de eso últimamente.

12) ¿Cómo hace tus compras con un presupuesto, por internet o thrifting? 
Siempre compro con un presupuesto. Todavía no he hecho "esa" compra de una bolsa cara o un par de zapatos caros. Me encanta ir thrifting en Goodwill o en el mercado de pulgas local. Me encanta vintage, pero me niego a pagar un brazo y una pierna por ella. Mientras estaba en la Republica Dominicana yo siempre hiba a La Duarte con París a las "Agachate Boutiques"

Yo también soy una experta en compras en un presupuesto y la búsqueda de las mejores ofertas! Justo ayer me compré unas bailarinas muy lindas en Ann Taylor originalmente por $78, los conseguí por $11! También tengo un abrigo Gap muy lindo que originalmente era $200 y lo compré por $50. Mis amigas se ríen de mí porque a veces voy a las tiendas y las arreglo para encontrar cosas tan bajo como 97 centavos! Oh y de último, el otro día me encontré con estos zapatos BALLY en una tienda vintage por solo un $1 (zapatos de $300)!
13) La música que está escuchando actualmente? 
Actualmente estoy escuchando a esta señora joven increíble de Gran Bretaña, se llama Lianne La Havas, ella lo es todo!

14) Tu comida favorita y su restaurante favorito?
Esta es siempre una pregunta difícil porque me encanta la comida y tengo demasiados favoritos, en serio demasiados. Me encanta la comida Dominicana y de Afganistán, México, Perú y El Salvador. Tambien la comida Italiana, Francés, Japonés y del Oriente Medio, entre muchos otros! Ahora mismo estoy obsesionada con este pequeño restaurante en St. Charles en Boston llamado Figs. Tienen la mejor pizza con masa fina hecho al horno de ladrillo, que he tenido y ¡sus mejillones son para morirse!
