Easter has always been an improtant holiday in my home. Our Easter tradtions have always been to; attend church, take pictures at the park with the cherry blossoms and then have dinner with the family. This is a beautiful tradition that I grew up with and plan to continue with my children as well. As far back as I can remember, for Easter my mother always made sure I had the perfect dress. We all know how important a dress can be for a special day. Whether it is that first dress you wear to your presentation to the Lord as a baby, that monumental 1st birthday, 8th grade graduation, high school prom and lets not forget the chief of all dresses the cardinal wedding dress; dresses have a way of making a day that much more extraordinary. I can remember one of my favorite Easter sunday dresses like it was yesterday. I must have been about 7, It was a red tent dress with white polka dots and a white rounded collar. I wore it with of course a white hat with a red & white ribbon that adorned it. I also had white gloves and white lace stockings. Thinking about it brings a smile to my face, how I loved that dress. So much so that I saved it for my daughter and I had it up until 2007 when my parents home burned down. It is a bitter sweet memory but I will never forget how I looked and felt. This Easter I didn't wear a dress but it was none the less an outfit I selected special for the day. Let me tell you guys about this top, I saw it about a month ago on a trip to the mall and as soon as I laid eyes on it, I knew that I wanted to wear it on Easter Sunday. However, being the budget conscious fashionista that I am I did not purchase it that day at the full price of $29.95. Instead I waited, long and behold on Good Friday I went back to that same H&M and purched my top at 50% off! My skirt is a normal Forever 21 lycra streatch with a high waist. I cant remember the price but i did purchase it this year and it couldn't be more that 8 bucks. You all may remember these blush tone pumps from my "Shoes I am LOVING" post. They are the Women's Mossimo® Peony Pumps - Blush Patent for $24.99. But you guys know very well I did not pay $24.99 lol I got them at buy one get one 50% off, plus 5% off for using my Target card. Oh and they also had free shipping. My hat was a bonus find, I went shopping with my friend Vanessa on Saturday to help her spruce up her wardrobe and happened to find this hat at Shi by Journey's for $12. Overall the outfit came together quite nicely, I felt both comfortable and delightful. |
