Last month during Naliya's Spring Break I thought it would be fun to take the kids somewhere by train. They had never been on a train before, it would be both a learning experience and an adventure. I kept our destination a surprise right until we arrived at Newark Penn Station. ![]() Naliya was excited but nervous, Aarlen was just ready for to take on the train, he wanted to jump out of the stroller. I wanted to take a few pictures but Naliya's nerves almost got the best of her she was scared to stand in the train before it took off thinking she may fall but once it started moving she got more comfortable. Naliya was instantly taken aback by the grander, hustle and bustle of it all and had tons of questions. I wanted to give them the train ride experience without out the stress, I decided Hoboken would be our destination, New York would have been too much for me and for Naliya too especially since I didn't have the double stroller that day. The thought of possible losing my child in hectic Times Square NY was not even an option. I felt Hoboken was less fast paced, family friendly and closer. Once we got to Hoboken I found a local frozen yogurt shop for us to share a sweet treat. We then stopped at the pharmacy for drinks and then headed over to the water front park to play for a bit before heading back home. Over all it was a really great first train ride experience. I am sure next time I will venture a little farther especially if my husband is coming along. The kid's and I will definitely be taking more day trips this summer and Hoboken by train will be on the list again, they enjoyed running around the park as well as the awesome view. |
