How to Dress Your Straight/Banana Shape

How to Dress Your Straight/Banana Shape
To begin dressing your straight shape before anything you first must know that you fall under banana shape and know what that means. You can use this body type calculator if you aren't sure. You may have also seen it on the Chica Fashion Facebook Fanpage.

Banana, or straight (rectangular)
shaped women's waist measurement is less than 9 inches smaller than thier hip or bust measurement.

I personally fall under this category because my waist is about two- three inches too big other wise I would fall under hourglass. I will give you a few tips on how to dress your shape to make it appear more curvy and flattering.

1. Wear Horizontal Stripes

I know this sounds crazy and perhaps opposite of what you have always heard but
wearing horizontal stripes on your bottom half is a really good idea.

Why? Because most women who fall under the banana shape have little to know hips and the stripes going across the bit of hips you do have will make them seem wider giving the illusion that you are curvier than you really are.

2. Wear Skater/ Fit and Flare Dresses

Skater dresses flare from the waist out, aligning with your shoulders  to again give the illusion that you are wider at the bottom creating the appearance of an hourglass shape

3. Use a Belt

A belt whether wide or thin worn high at the waist can be used to cinch it in, making it smaller than both you chest and hips creating a curvier silhouette.

4. Wear Color block Dresses

A dress color blocked in the right places will also have the same effect of creating a smaller waist line, curvy silhouette and even slimmer figure.

5. Wear a High Waist Bottom

Wearing a high waist bottom accentuates the smallest part of your waist, this instantly makes you have an hourglass or even pear shaped figure highlighting the bit of hips you may have.
