I knew i wanted the black, white and floral Kate Spade theme for my baby shower, I'd search Pinterest daily for decor ideas. But unfortunately with this third pregnancy I experienced lots of depression and anxiety. For that reason I did not want the stress or headache that comes with planning a baby shower.
Thankfully I was given a shower at work and church, however, not with my special theme and decor but a blessing nonetheless. In my last month my Mother decided to throw me a little shower and wanted to include all those little details I'd originally desired. Unfortunately, Baby girl arrived 10 days early and left us with all these pink and gold decorations, so I did a Kate Spade Sip and See with them, decked with a dessert table featuring Shari's Berries treats! Back Drop
For the backdrop I used a black and white striped table cover and stuck it to the wall with push pins.I finally bought myself a backdrop holder after wanting one for a long time and never making the purchase.I had some black/silver sparkled curtains and used that along with a pink sequin fabric runner to frame the table.
Paper Flowers
A local handmade paper crafter and friend - Jennifer from Endless Crafts by Jen makes beautiful custom paper flowers. She does a wonderful job and ensures that when she packs the boxes in preparation for delivery everything is beautifully shipped with care.
The Cake
A local NJ baker and friend from my church was nice enough to gift me a cake from her shop, Chachi's Cakes. Naked cakes are popular these days, I thought it was cute, chic and, on theme with Kate Spade.
The cake was chocolate with raspberry buttercream frosting/ filling. I decorated the cake with baby's breath flowers from the supermarket and a sweet little pink and gold "Oh Baby" cake topper from Amazon, you can order one here. I love whenever Target brings out cake pedestals in there "Dollar Section" I found this pretty pink one during Valentine season one year. I love cake pedestals, I collect them. Menu
The menu was pretty much desserts and pink lemonade since I was not able to drink. I would have loved Aldi's sparkling lemonade but it was not "in season". I made regular pink lemonade and put in the pretty glass bottles I found at Target.
I bought a few treats, candies, chocolate and gum as well as made a couple of small desserts such as the deconstructed cherry pie and frosted pretzels sticks. But the real stars were the Shari's Berries Half Dozen Hand-Dipped Champagne Strawberries and Mini cheesecake trio. |
