A few days before the birth of my son I had the pleasure of being treated to a "me day" at Bangz Salon & Wellness Spa in Montclair, NJ that included a wash, blow out and cut by none other than industry expert and co-founder Dominick Sansevero who was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. As a stylist & salon owner for 30 years, Dominick's career began in & continues to grow in Montclair. Dominick specializes in cutting techniques for all types of hair textures. Although he does not do haircolor, Dominick brings his advanced knowledge, creative flair & impeccable attention to detail into all color consultations with his colorists. Dominick Sansevero's lovely assistant was super sweet and friendly. She specializes in working with naturally curly hair and was able to blow out my curly fro with no trouble at all. I was instantly taken in by the location of the salon, it is beautifully located in a repurposed church. The inside of the salon is so modern, open and clean. I felt welcome right away by the friendly and poised staff. They offer a nice variety of refreshments, being almost 39 weeks pregnant at the time, the cucumber infused water was just what I needed Bangz offers a variety of services including Spa, Hair and Chemical services. Because of time constraints I was unable to get a mani and pedi but I will definitely be returning for that. I also would have loved to try one of the spa packages but due to my pregnancy I was a little weary in using to many products. The spa looked amazing and I cant wait to go back to have a well deserved "me day" where I can take a break from being a mom of two and simply relax, maybe even get in some sleep? lol They recently hosted their annual Face of Bangz Contest. Bangz Salon and Wellness Spa supports numerous causes and charities through fundraisers and other events at the salon. The evening was open to the public and featured five women who will walked the runway and made a brief presentation on why they should be the 2013 Face of Bangz and received a $500 donation to their charity of choice. The five finalists were selected by an online “People’s Choice” vote from ten semi-finalists who had been picked by judges from hundreds of entries. There were refreshments and wine from local merchants and a suggested $5.00 donation at the door that went to the grand prize winner’s charity of choice. |
