My Toddlers 5 Favorite Apps

In this modern age, it is very common for even the littlest of babies to use a phone or tablet as a form of entertainment or as an educational tool. It is almost as if babies are now born knowing how to operate a mobile device.

Honestly, I was surprised by how quickly my son was drawn to my iPhone even at just months old -- and since we already had apps downloaded for my daughter, it was all the more enticing for him.

En esta era moderna, es muy común que incluso el más pequeño de los bebés sepa usar un teléfono o tableta como una forma de entretenimiento o como una herramienta educativa. Es casi como si los bebés están ahora naciendo sabiendo cómo utilizar un dispositivo móvil.

Honestamente, me sorprendió la rapidez con la cual estaba atraído mi hijo a mi iPhone, incluso a tan sólo unos meses de edad - y ya que habíamos descargado aplicaciones para mi hija, fue aún más atractivo para él.

The very first app I downloaded for him was the Giggle Gang app for babies. Now that he's gotten a little older, he's less into that one and more into the ones that are for my daughter. He enjoys them just as much as she does and although he is able to open and maneuver them all on his own, to get the most out of the apps I like to sit with him and make it a fun teaching opportunity. I think there are a ton of great apps out there that allow children to learn while having fun at the same time. I love to see how concentrated and engaged he can get while playing on one of our devices.

Apps are also a big help for me. They keep him calm while we are in a waiting room, or anywhere where I would like for him to keep quiet really.

There are those moments of frustration when he can't get the app to do what he would like it to but lucky for him mommy is right there to lend a hand and assist him. For the most part, he enjoys playing with apps very much and what he doesn't know is that mommy is having just as much fun as well as getting in a little learning lesson for him.

La primera aplicación que descargué para él era Giggle Gang para bebés. Ahora que el esta un poco mas mayor, él es menos atraído ah ese y más en los que son para mi hija. Los disfruta tanto como ella y aunque es capaz de abrir y de maniobrar a todos por su cuenta, para obtener el máximo provecho de las aplicaciones me gusta sentarme con él para que sea una oportunidad de enseñanza divertida. Creo que hay un montón de buenas aplicaciones por ahí que permiten que los niños aprendan mientras se divierten al mismo tiempo. Me encanta ver que tan concentrado y ocupado puede estar mientras juega en uno de nuestros dispositivos.

Las aplicaciones son también de gran ayuda para mí. Ayudan a mantener lo calmado mientras estamos en una sala de espera, o realmente en cualquier lugar donde me gustaría que él se mantenga tranquilo.

Existen esos momentos de frustración cuando no puede hacer que la aplicación hago lo que le gustaría  pero por su suerte, mamá está ahí para echar una mano y ayudarle. En mayor parte, le gusta jugar con aplicaciones mucho y lo que él no sabe es que mamá se está divertido, también así como entrando una pequeña lección de aprendizaje para el.

1. Peekaboo HD - A farm animal peek-a-boo game. Teaches animals names and sounds in both English and Spanish.
2. Disney Princess Palace Pets - This one is my daughter's, but my son loves all of the animals. He is a big fan of dogs. Children are able to pet, bathe, groom, and accessorize animals.
3. Bible for Kids - Kids explore the big stories of the Bible through read-along, interactive adventures, and animations.
4. ABC Phonics Animals - Talking and Spelling -  Animal alphabet flashcards, teaches reading, spelling, animals, letters sounds and more.
5. Watch Disney Junior - Allows children to watch full episodes, clips and more of their favorite Disney Junior shows.
