Naliya's 7th Birthday: Dreamworks Trolls Party

My little girl Naliya turned 7 this past week, I am not sure whether or not we decided on a Troll's theme or I did - either way she loved it! Oriental Trading and Sharri's Berries sent over some supplies and goodies for her Troll's birthday party, 

Here is what I came up with...

Trolls Backdrop

I used a 4 x 6 grass rug, along with some balloons from the dollar store, flower garlands and a dozen Bright Tissue Hanging Fans to decorate my backdrop. My favorite part is the grass rug, it just set the whole Trolls in the forest feeling. 

Trolls Tablescape

Birthday tablescapes are my favorite because it is the focal point of the party. I use tablescapes to not only add decor to my event but also as a dessert and food table. I use a variety of items like glass bowls, ramekins, candle sticks, cake pedestals,  3 tier cup cake stand and tupperware - as risers under the table cloth.

When I saw the Mini Lime Green Cupcake Pedestals from Oriental Trading, I just had to have them. I used them to add another element of "trees" and were perfect to showcase Troll figurines. 

**Budget Savvy Tip: I use dollar store candlesticks and plates to create an impromptu cake pedestal. Also my 3 tier cup cake stand was an old silver one I bought at the thrift shop and spray painted.

Trolls Treats

As mentioned previously I teamed up with Shari's Berries for this Trolls birthday party so all of the desserts are from their site. They sent over the following treats

• 9 Hand-Decorated Birthday Crispy Treats
• Petite Birthday Cake & 9 Birthday Cake Truffles
• 9 Birthday Brownie Pops

From the dollar store I bought a variety of candies which included chocolate kisses, sour gummies, sugar sticks and gumballs. From Oriental Trading I got my favorite, Tootsie Roll Fruit Rolls. Not only do they taste great but also add more fun pops of color. 

I had purchased a cupcake ice cream cake from Carvel  but ended up leaving it out by mistake and it melted! So I took the extra sprinkles they provided and put them on a Shoprite cake to jazz it up a bit - problem solved.

Trolls Table Setting

For the table setting I used a lime green table cover, two colored glass vases from the dollar store, two square moss mats from Michael's but a moss runner would have worked great also. 

Of course you can't have a Trolls table setting without out Trolls cups and plates and more Trolls figurines! To add more greenery I used two potted grass arrangements I stuck funny hair lollipops in them.

Trolls Drink Station

The hardest thing to find for this Trolls birthday party were Trolls balloons! Apparently not many stores around my town carry Trolls party supplies, so when I finally found some I bought all 6! 

I used four to anchor my drink station. P.S. It's just some Hawaiian Punch in a drink dispenser. But when you add a Plastic Neon Fringe Curtain and Fiesta Flower Tissue Centerpieces as a background, you now have a Trolls Drink Station. I used my trusty old glass milk bottles with colored paper straws, as well as the cutest DreamWorks Trolls Cups.

Trolls Favors, Party Hats & Pinata

When searching for Trolls party ideas on Pinterest I found the cutest Troll hair "party hats" and followed the tutorial. Basically I looped 10 strips of tulle around a dollar store headband, glued flowers from Michael's then tied the tulle into a ponytail with a mini rubber band. Easy Peasy. 

I used a few snack size baggies I found at the dollar store, decorated them with Trolls stickers and filled them with cotton candy "Trolls Hair". The kids loved the idea of having Trolls hair.

Another fun treat for the children were the Bright Polka Dot Favor Boxes. I put in a couple of favors like Heart Clip Key Chains, Trolls pencils, Dreamworks Trolls Sticker Earrings, and Trolls Plastic Rings. Not too much went in, I wanted to leave room for every to stuff their favor box with candy from the pinata.

Talking about the pinata I hacked mine. I did not want to order an expensive one off line and certainly did not want to wait for shipping. I picked up a simple party hat pinata from Party City and covered it with tissue paper and used scrapbook paper to create a floral headband.
