My baby girl turned 3 this past January, she was really into Lalaloopsy Dolls so we went with that theme. There are many different dolls but since she was the Crumbs Sugar Cookie doll for Halloween, I based the party and decor around that specific doll. Many details went into this event look closely too see. It took an attempt of me making the invite on my own and a few different Etsy vendors but finally one seller had almost exactly what I was looking for. It wasn't a girls only party so I really wanted the boy Lalaloopsy doll on the invite. I think that this year I will decorate everything the night before because it seems no matter how early I get a start on things the day of, I am still always running behind. I wanted to have the iPad running a slideshow of her pictures from birth to 3 but didn't have the time. I was also unable to take pictures before guests arrived. Like with her previous birthdays I get all of my supplies from Etsy, Michael's/AC Moore, Amazon, Target, Dollar Tree and Party City. I used all of her Lalaloopsy dolls to decorate the room as well as made fabric garland to go with the "Sew adorable, Sew cute" motto. Her cake and cupcakes were made by a high school friend of mine, My Madrina's Creations. The most moist and delicious cake I have had thus far. Most of the kids opted for the cupcake so I basically ate that bottom layer alone. It was strawberry cake.... too good. She is very creative and affordable considering her detailed fondant work. If you are in the North Jersey area I would definitely reach out. I know I will be going back for a Monster High cake this year. I used a sky blue piece of fabric from JoAnn's as the backdrop and hung tissue paper pom poms along with Lalaloopsy balloons. All printables including banner, water bottle lables and goody bag tags are from PrintSparkle. I decorated the tables with paper doilies, sewing spools and buttons.. I ordered what I thought were individial paper clouds for the walls but it turns out they were all on one clear sheet. I think it still looked pretty nice. Each child received a goody box containing a pencil and eraser, either an eye patch or Lalaloopsy party hat headband depending on the gender. I also applied temporary tattoos and cut out coloring pages from a Lalaloopsy activity book I picked up at dollar tree. You can now download coloring pages from Nick Jrs. site. I made this DIY lollypop center piece, the pops, filler and styrofoam are from dollar tree, the tin bucket from Target's dollar section. I used these clear loot bags and stickers for popcorn I got all three from Dollar Tree. Tip: Never buy dollar store popcorn unless its a brand you've already used. I also made her headband, I saw one online that I loved but it was $50 So I DIY's it using a piece of felt, buttons, a pipe cleaner, yarn, ribbon and a flower. All Items I had at home and went to town with the hot glue gun. I only spent four bucks on the headband! Using felt, a sharpie, hot glue gun and velcro I DIY'd a "Pin the bow" on Lalaloopsy I glued the hair a little crooked but I don't think anyone other than me noticed. Together my husband and I made the Lalaloopsy Piñata using a beach ball, paper mache, paint, felt, and tissue paper. Tip: I don't recommend using a beach ball I later realized with time and temperature it deflates making causing it to be uneven. I provided various snacks and treats such as macaroni and cheese, meat palls, pizza rolls, fruit kabobs, fruity pebble treats, marshmallows, lollypops, popcorn and cupcakes. There was also a drink station with water, strawberry lemonade, lemon iced tea, and glass "milk bottles" with paper straws. Tip: It is cheaper to buy cases of Starbucks frappachino from Costco or Sam's club and reuse them, than buying the glass milk bottles online. I also decorated our front door for her birthday and left it up till after Valentine's Day. I bought the deco mesh at AC Moore. The wreath and hearts are from Dollar Tree. Please take your time to view photos from the event to see all the cute little details I thought of. I hope you enjoy my ideas! |
