Premio Lo Nuestro: Shaila Durca Hair and Makeup Tutorial

Univision’s annual Premio Lo Nuestro music award show took place last night in Miami and it was definitely  filled with memorable moments by top Latino artists! 

One of the special performers of the night, Shaila Durcal, daughter of legendary singer Rocia Durcal, sang her latest hit “Tanto Amor” with a live painter and mariachi backdrop to deliver a romantic melody that filled the arena with awe. Shaila, with EMI Latin Records, was nominated for Artista Femenino Regional Mexicano del Año. 

On the red carpet, Shaila arrived in a one-of-a-kind dress looking beautiful with glam provided by Olay, COVERGIRL, and Pantene on behalf of hairstylist and makeup artist, Ariel Lopez.

Songstress, Shaila Durcal’s glamorous look for Premio Lo Nuestro was inspired by the performance of the remix of her third single “Tanto Amor” and was created to smoothly transition from the red carpet to the live stage. 

Shaila’s dress for the performance was a one-of-a-kind creation with a corset, numerous layers of black tulle, and a striking metallic blue application. The stage was artistically set to appear as a painter’s studio.

SKIN CARE

·The key to a beautiful look starts with great skin. To create Shaila’s gorgeous glow Ariel used Olay Total Effects Age Defying Wet Cleansing Cloths to hydrate and clean the skin.

·To moisturize the skin Ariel applied Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Revolution Complex, which instantly smoothes away the look of fine lines and wrinkles so she was camera ready.

·To finish prepping his canvas he used Olay Total Effects Line & Dark Circle Minimizing Brush, a light, non-greasy daily moisturizer that instantly reduces the appearance of darkness under the eye for a bright and fresh look.

MAKEUP

·Ariel started with Simply Ageless Eye Corrector #230 to get rid of dark circles and give skin a younger look. Then, he applied the hydrating foundation Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation in Natural Beige #140 to even out her skin tone and give her cheeks a silky glow with COVERGIRL Cheekers Bronzer to create the effect of a sun-kissed tan.

· The central focus of Shaila’s makeup was a dark, smokey eye with blue and purple tones that went perfectly with her outfits for the evening. Ariel used the liquid-to-powder waterproof eye shadow COVERGIRL Intense ShadowBlast in Platinum Pop #805 because itbuilt-in-primer helps makeup last longer so that  your look is in place throughout the evening. He also used a selection of shades from COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 3-Kit Shadows in Golden Sunset #115 and Blazing Blues #117.

· To finish her eyes, Ariel used LineBlast 24 Hour Eyeliner and several layers of COVERGIRL LashBlast 24 Hour Mascara to bring out her lashes.

· Shaila’s lips were kept natural-looking to balance the intensity of her eyes. Ariel used COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipliner in Smoky #205 and then created a unique lip color for Shaila with the double-ended lip stick COVERGIRL Blast Flipstick in Snap #845.

HAIR

· Shaila has long beautiful hair so Ariel created soft and natural waves so she would wear her hair down. He first protected her strands by applying Pantene Heat Protection & Shine Spray on damp locks before blow-drying.

· Then, he rolled up hair section by section and pin set it until the very last moment. As Shaila was almost ready to go, Ariel released all pins and shook her hair in place with his fingers.

· To seal the look with maximum hold, he sprayed Pantene Anti-Humidity Hairspray and Shaila was ready to shine.

El look de la atractiva cantante Shaila Durcal en los Premios lo Nuestro, fue inspirado en su presentación del remix de su tercer sencillo “Tanto Amor” y fue creado para que luciera bella tanto en la alfombra roja como en el escenario.


El vestido de Shaila para su presentación fue una creación única de un diseño tipo corset de capas de tul negro y una
llamativa aplicación en azul metálico.

CUIDADO DE LA PIEL

. La clave para un look hermoso comienza con una piel radiante. Para lograr que la piel de Shaila luzca resplandeciente, Ariel utilizó  Olay Total Effects Age Defying Wet Cleansing Cloths para limpiar e hidratar su piel.

. Para hidratar la piel, se aplicó el Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Revolution Complex el cual suaviza el cutis y disimula las líneas de expresión al instante para que Shaila esté lista para las cámaras.

. Para terminar de preparar la piel, Ariel aplicó Olay Total Effects Line & Dark Circle Minimizing Brush, un humectante ligero y no grasoso que reduce instantáneamente las ojeras oscuras para un look radiante y fresco.

MAQUILLAJE

. Ariel comenzó con el corrector Simply Ageless Eye Corrector #230 para desaparecer los círculos debajo de los ojos y lucir una piel más joven. Luego, aplicó la base hidratante Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation #140 para emparejar el tono de la piel y le dio un brillo sedoso a las mejillas con el COVERGIRL Cheekers Bronzer para un efecto como tocado por el sol.

. El maquillaje de Shaila se enfoca en unos ojos esfumados y oscuros con los tonos azules y púrpuras de su vestido. Ariel usó la sombra líquida a prueba de agua COVERGIRL Intense ShadowBlast en Platinum Pop #805 porque su “built-in primer” tiene larga duración para que el maquillaje de sus ojos quedara intacto toda la noche. Además, creó contrastes con una selección de colores de los COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 3-Kit Shadows en Golden Sunset #115 y Blazing Blues #117. 

. Para terminar no podía faltar la delineación de los ojos con LineBlast 24 Hour Eyeliner y varias capas de COVERGIRL LashBlast 24 Hour Mascara para resaltar las pestañas.


. Los labios de Shaila se mantuvieron naturales para balancear la intensidad de los ojos. Ariel delineó sus labios con COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipliner en Smoky #205 y luego creó un color de labios único para Shaila con el pintalabios de doble punta COVERGIRL Blast Flipstick en Snap #845.

CABELLO

Shaila tiene una larga e impresionante cabellera así que Ariel creó unas ondas suaves y naturales para que llevara el cabello suelto. Comenzó protegiendo el cabello con Pantene Heat Protection & Shine Spray en el cabello húmedo antes de secarlo. 

. Luego enrolló el cabello sección por sección con pinches y lo dejó fijar hasta el último momento. Ya casi lista para salir, Ariel soltó todos los pinches y acomodó el cabello de Shaila con sus dedos. 

. Para sellar el look con máxima fijación roció Pantene Anti-Humidity Hairspray y Shaila quedó lista para brillar en el escenario.
