Disclosure: I received complimentary tickets to this show, however all thoughts and opinions are my own. On Sunday my family and I attended The Berenstain Bears Live show in NYC. I was pretty excited to take the kids out into the city and watch the show. The plan was to take the train in to make it more of an activity but of course, Familia Fashion is always late. We got there right on time and were able to experience it all. I really like that the show touches on some important family matters such as talking to strangers, competition, struggling with school work, lying, eating healthy and teamwork. I think all of those topics are major issues with kids and were integrated in a relatable, fun musical way that children could understand. Between all of the music, dancing and animated acting the show is apportate and entertaining for both adults and children. It was a really cute show with a really nice story line. I think I was so excited to see the show that I did not bother to check out the site until I actually got there and was surprised to see that they weren't fully dressed as bears. I was kind of expecting that but the little bear touches were still nice. Some of the costumes were a bit worn and torn, nothing a child would notice but I did - sorry its the stylist in me. Overall however it was a great show my son who is 2 was really into it and they had his full attention. Normally he doesn't even sit through a movie so the fact that he was engaged, laughing and clapping was a really good sign. After the show we headed over to Holey Creamery for one of their delicious ice cream and donut treats, I had seen them on Food Network's The best thing I ever ate, it was the perfect time to go. It was conveniently located across the street for a dollar a slice pizzeria so we had that too! A Sunday well spent indeed! |
