YOUR BABY IS THE SIZE OF A LEMON - i'M 14 WEEKS PREGNANT + 4 LEMON PROPS TO USE IN YOUR ANNOUNCEMENT8/28/2017
In true Hispanic fashion or maybe even superstitious tradition, I waited until the end of my first trimester to share with the world that, my baby is the size of a lemon - I am 14 weeks pregnant. There are a few reasons for this, the main one is you don't want to go around sharing when you barely have a blastocyst hanging on to your uterus. The next one is...
That naturally there is a higher risk during the first few weeks and although miscarriages are normal and common, I would honestly would hate to share a pregnancy announcement one week and share a miscarriage one the next. As a blogger, I know we share a lot but there is also a lot I don't share and I am not sure that is news I would want to share, at least not right away. A few more reasons are that I wanted to make sure close members of my family were aware before a social media announcement was made. I also wanted to take advantage of the fact that I would be in Anna Maria, FL and could take photos on the beach! Lastly, once I realized that at 14 weeks the fetus is about the #SizeOfALemon I just had to use a dress I had in my closet.
I bought this dress from Amazon.com last August to wear on my 32nd bday in October, little did I know that my body was about to fail me big time. Around this time list year my knees began to hurt to the point where kneeling, squatting, and lounges were not an option. I thought maybe I over did it at the gym and sprained something, I didn't know what was going on. Then a few weeks later, in September I had what I thought was a flu. But the body aches were so unbearable and my knees? Forget it, useless! I couldn't get up without help all weekend, so I headed to the ER. I had a kidney infection and was admitted to the ICU for 6 days because it turned into Sepsis, you can read more about that here.
Needless to say wearing this dress in October as planned wasn't an option as the sepsis kicked my immune system into overdrive and it began to attack my joints. It took me 3 weeks to begin to recover, I had my joint pain treated as rheumatoid arthritis with steroids. I gained 20+lbs back and well this dress stood in the closet. Fast forward to this August, I'm 14 weeks pregnant and super grateful. I finally got to wear my dress to announce that this week my baby is the size of a lemon. We are both healthy and doing great! I can't wait to meet my new best friend. This little one is my sign that the Lord restores all things.#HesAGoodGoodFather NOW FOR FUN PROPS!2. Fake Lemons3. Lemon Print Baby Clothes4.
