Zerona: Cold Laser Fat Reduction, I did it Should You

Remember a few weeks back I mentioned I would be reviewing Zerona Fat Laser Removal at Body by Laser in West Orange, NJ, well I have completed 5 sessions and am now ready to share my thoughts.

If you didn't read my previous post on laser fat removal then you should because it explains everything in detail on how it works. But here is the gist, Zerona is an FDA approved, cold laser treatment where your fat is emulsified. 

I reached out to Body by Laser West Orange after searching for non invasive alternatives to smart lipo (another procedure I would totally do) since it is way out of my budget. They were happy to have me try it! I had tried cool sculpting twice before after my daughter but I found that it didn't work so that wasn't an option. When I stumbled upon Zerona I was immediately intrigued, excited that you feel no pain and see results in as little as two weeks!

These last 15 post pregnancy pounds have been the hardest to shed, by this time after my daughter I was at my fitness goal and was simply maintaining. This pregnancy however, has put me through a roller coaster of emotions, my most difficult area, the dreaded mommy pooch. So of course that would be my targeted treatment area. 

There isn't any prep needed, I just went in and laid down. The clinician then provides you with protective glasses, adjusts the lasers over the specified area, turns on some soothing tunes and leaves you be for the next 20 minutes. She then comes back flips you over and does the same thing. Bye bye back fat! During the sessions I would text, Tweet, Instagram and Facebook but you could easily nap if you wanted. To finish, you are moved into another room where the whole body vibration machine is. You stand on the platform do a few simple movements and then step off after 10 minutes. The vibration helps to loosen the fat so your body is better able to flush it.

My Results

The amount of inches I lost is uncertain I believe it was 1-2" but I am really not sure. For whatever reason I don't think the clinicians measurements were accurate and instead of measuring before during and after the treatment, I was measured after sessions one through three. 

What I did instantly notice was the skin on my lower abdomen a lot tighter and my stretch marks lighter. So even if I did not lose inches as intended, at least I no longer have soft, wrinkly skin. Another thing I noticed and maybe you can tell in the photos is that I have slight more Ab definition

Would I do it agian? Yes, in fact I would love to go get my 6th session plus 3 more if possible. 

Would I have paid out of pocket? Yes but only with a really good Groupon deal for 6 or more sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work?
Yes! It does, I will tell you right now though, it will take 6 or more sessions. You can probably get away with doing just three if you pair it with a 3 day detox and lots of cardio. However, for lasting and noticeable results definitely 6+ sessions. 

How much does it cost?
The cost varies on the treatment center, sales, package specials and deals. I've seen rates from 300 to $600 for one session. Currently Body by Laser West Orange has a Groupon offer of 3 sessions treatment for $399. 

Does it hurt?
No it does not. You don't feel, smell or hear a thing. 

How soon do you see results?
After your third session, especially if you have a well balanced diet, are exercising and drinking lots of water. You can't do this treatment and eat junk, you simply won't lose the inches. 

Is it the same as Ultrasonic Cavitation/Radio Frequency/Massotherapy?
No. Zerona is the only FDA non invasive cold laser fat removal treatment approved for body contouring.
